40 thousand people left Israel in seven months
The number of people leaving Israel and going abroad has increased dramatically. Israelis are emigrating abroad in unprecedented numbers. People also take their money with them when they go abroad. In addition, many educated and skilled people are leaving Israel.

According to the Bureau of Statistics, 55,400 people left Israel last year. That was higher than the average of the previous decade. Before this, an average of 37,100 people emigrated from Israel every year. 27,800 people returned there during the same period, which is higher than the decade average of 23,800.
Previously, the number of immigrants and returnees in Israel in 2021 was understated. According to the latest, another 126 thousand 100 citizens have left Israel and migrated abroad in the last 10 years.
In 2023, 39 percent of people who immigrated from Israel were residents of wealthy districts, including Tel Aviv. Of these, 28 percent are from Haifa and the northern region, and 15 percent are from the southern region. Out of this, 13 percent from Jerusalem and 5 percent from Judea and Samaria migrated abroad.
However, the rate of people leaving Israel increased this summer. An average of 5,200 people left the country in the first five months of this year. But last June and July it exceeded 7 thousand 300 people.
