Sports journalist Aghore Mondal passed away

Senior sports journalist Aghor Mondal is no more. He died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University. He was 58 years old. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Aghor Mondal was suffering from kidney and heart problems for a long time. In addition to these complications, he was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University with dengue from last September 5. He was in the ICU and on life support as his condition gradually deteriorated.

For more than three decades, Aghor Mondal had associated his life with journalism. Worked in newspapers like Janmabhoomi, Lal Sabuj, Ekkar Kaggi, Vohar Kaggi. He joined broadcasting in the early 21st century. Worked for a long time in Channel I, Deepta TV, ATN News. He was last working as News Editor in ATN News.

His body was taken from the hospital to his workplace ATN News yesterday. Colleagues paid their last respects to him at this time. After that, his body was taken to the handball federation at 7:30 pm. He was soaked in the love of sports people there. After that, Aghor Mondal’s body was taken to Dhaka Reporters Unity to pay respects.

Finally, he was taken to his home in Hatirpool. After all the formalities, his last rites were held at Postgola Crematorium last night.
